Attire
- Select clothing appropriate for the occupation. The goal is to look the part. A good standard is to dress one step above what you would wear on the job.
- Clothes should be clean and pressed.
- Frayed cuffs, missing buttons, wrinkled clothing, and scuffed shoes will make a bad impression.
- Avoid faddish styles and loud colors.
- Jewelry should be conservative and kept to a minimum.
Grooming and Dress tips for Men:
- Facial hair should be freshly shaved and mustache or beard neatly trimmed.
- Body should be freshly bathed/showered and use deodorant.
- Teeth should be brushed and breath fresh.
- Fingernails should be clean, smooth and well-groomed.
- Don’t wear a crazy tie – keep it professional and simple.
- Wear smart, polished shoes – no tennis shoes please!
- Don’t go overboard on the aftershave.
- Colognes – Use sparingly or not at all. Your “fragrance” should not linger after you leave.
- Avoid sagging clothing.
- Make sure your hair is clean, neat and tidy.
- Avoid having piercings and tattoos on display. (Men, remove earrings.)

- If you want to wear jewelery, keep it simple. (No hoop earrings…)
- Avoid having piercings and tattoos on display.
